A Prefeitura de São Luís por meio da Secretaria Municipal de Turismo vem investindo cada vez mais na transformação do destino São Luís em um destino turístico inteligente que é "um espaço turístico inovador, acessível a todos, consolidado sobre uma infraestrutura tecnológica de vanguarda que garante o desenvolvimento sustentável do território, que facilita a interação e integração do visitante com o entorno e incrementa a qualidade da sua experiência no destino e a qualidade de vida dos residentes" (SEGITTUR, 2013).
O Programa DTI São Luís está pautado em diversos projetos: Projeto São Luís Criativa; Projeto Inovatur São Luís; Projeto Escola de Turismo; Projeto São Luís: Encantos Rurais; Projeto Conecta Turismo São Luís; Projeto Guia MICE São Luís; Projeto: Trilhas e Tesouros de São Luís; Projeto São Luís: Turismo sem Barreiras.

Projeto Estratégia Nacional DTI Brasil: O destino São Luís está entre os 10 destinos turísticos selecionados pelo projeto do Ministério do Turismo para receber consultoria especializada do instituto Ciudad del Futuro. Esta assessoria tem como objetivo conduzir um diagnóstico da cidade e auxiliar na construção do Plano de Transformação e no planejamento de um sistema de gestão de destino turístico inteligente.
Programa Turismo Futuro Brasil: O destino São Luís está entre os 12 destinos turísticos selecionados pelo SEBRAE Nacional e o Banco Interamericano de Desenvolvimento (BID) para receber assessoria personalizada da GKS Inteligência Territorial. Esta consultoria visa orientar a a elaboração de instrumentos de planejamento e a implementação de ações-chave para o fortalecimento e consolidação de suas estratégias de destino turístico inteligente.

CERTIFICADO DTI EM TRANSFORMAÇÃO
O destino São Luís recebeu o certificado “São Luís DTI em Transformação” do Ministério do Turismo, por estar implementando diversas ações com foco em tecnologia, acessibilidade, governança, sustentabilidade, marketing, entre outros.

The Municipality of São Luís, through the Municipal Secretary of Tourism, has been investing more and more in transforming the São Luís destination into an intelligent tourist destination that is "an innovative tourist space, accessible to all, consolidated on a cutting-edge technological infrastructure that guarantees the sustainable development of the territory, which facilitates the interaction and integration of the visitor with the surroundings and increases the quality of their experience in the destination and the quality of life of the residents" (SEGITTUR, 2013).

DTI Brazil National Strategy Project: The destination São Luís is among the 10 tourist destinations selected by the Ministry of Tourism to receive specialized consultancy from the Ciudad del Futuro Institute. This consultancy aims to conduct a diagnosis of the city and assist in the construction of the Transformation Plan and the planning of a smart tourist destination management system.
