Roteiro Quilombo Cultural de São Luís
A proposta do “Roteiro Quilombo Cultural de São Luís” te convida a conceber o que de fato compõe a essência do termo quilombo urbano. Pautado na valorização da ancestralidade negra e demarcado pela existência de bairros constituídos por remanescentes de quilombos, a valorização da identidade étnica quilombola caracteriza-os como unidade social, sob uma perspectiva de autoafirmação e pertencimento no contexto coletivo e territorial ao qual esses indivíduos se encontram inseridos. A partir desta compreensão, a Secretaria Municipal de Turismo criou o Roteiro Quilombo Cultural de São Luís, onde será possível conhecer, valorizar e vivenciar uma experiência inesquecível.
Atualmente, 10 locais fazem parte do roteiro:
1. Mercado Municipal da Liberdade
2. Terreiro Ylé Ashé Obá Yzôo
3. Bloco Tradicional Os Indomáveis Show
4. Bumba meu Boi da Floresta
5. Terreiro Ilé Ashé Ogum Sogbô
6. Bloco Afro Abiyeyé Maylô
7. Tambor de Crioula Maracrioula
8. Bumba meu Boi de Leonardo
9. Produtora Novo Quilombo - Reggae
10. Bloco Afro Netos de Nanã
O objetivo do roteiro é ampliar a oferta de roteiros turísticos da cidade, implementando uma rota cultural no maior quilombo urbano da América Latina, localizado na capital maranhense, intitulado Quilombo Cultural São Luís, consolidando dessa forma o roteiro composto pelos bairros Camboa, Liberdade, Fé em Deus e Diamante.
Diversas ações já foram implementadas, como a sinalização turística e capacitação para os agentes participantes do roteiro. Além disso, o roteiro foi premiado em 2022 no Prêmio Braztoa de Sustentabilidade e conquistou o 1º lugar na categoria “Valorização do Patrimônio Cultural no Turismo” do Prêmio Nacional de Turismo em 2023.
A Secretaria Municipal de Turismo preparou um guia turístico que auxilia o visitante a conhecer o roteiro.

The proposal for the “Quilombo Cultural Route of São Luís” invites you to conceive what actually makes up the essence of the term urban quilombo. Based on the valorization of black ancestry and demarcated by the existence of neighborhoods made up of remnants of quilombos, the valorization of quilombola ethnic identity characterizes them as a social unit, from a perspective of self-affirmation and belonging in the collective and territorial context in which these individuals find themselves inserted. Based on this understanding, the Municipal Department of Tourism created the São Luís Quilombo Cultural Route, where it will be possible to discover, value and live an unforgettable experience.

The objective of the itinerary is to expand the offer of tourist itineraries in the city, implementing a cultural route in the largest urban quilombo in Latin America, located in the capital of Maranhão, entitled Quilombo Cultural São Luís, thus consolidating the itinerary made up of the neighborhoods Camboa, Liberdade, Fé em Deus and Diamante.
Several actions have already been implemented, such as tourist signage and training for agents participating in the itinerary. Furthermore, the itinerary was awarded in 2022 at the Braztoa Sustainability Award and achieved the 1st place in the category "Cultural Heritage Appreciation in Tourism" at the National Tourism Award in 2023.
The Municipal Department of Tourism has prepared a tourist guide that helps visitors get to know the itinerary.
